Dear HMT Friends and Families,
We hope this email finds your families safe and healthy!
Usually by mid January we are starting summer camp registrations and are already in full swing in prepping our summer musical. This year, however, (as in everything we seem to try to do), we are stuck with so many unknowns. It is hard to plan, hard to prepare and definitely hard for SO much to be out of our control! We are eagerly waiting to hear from Palo Alto School District about rental space, but currently they are unclear whether their spaces will be available. We have been looking at some other possibilities for open spaces to create theatre. TBA very soon…. (If any of you have any other rental/open space ideas, please feel free to send them my way!) I know personally, as a director at heart, I naturally like everything to fall into place as I envision and expect them to be. This past year has been a great lesson in HOPE, patience, and PAUSE….
Speaking of PAUSE…..I was taking a walk with my family yesterday and took this picture below. My kids were busy whining about “vacation” being over and truthfully, I was also feeling a bit anxious about…….well…….everything, and then BOOM! this “sign” was as clear as day…….beauty is STILL all around us. We just have to STOP for a moment and take time to look around…….BEYOND ourselves to see the rainbow that is our future :)
OUR NEW VIDEO!!
While we are all “waiting in the wings” as Broadway and live theatre all around the world prepare to return in 2021, please enjoy this VIDEO of some of our “greatest moments” from the past 20 years!
We can’t wait to create more magic in the years ahead!
The impact of our lost HMT summer camps is profound. These cancellations affect all of our campers, our musicians, costume and set designers, and our talented staff who bring our shows to life every summer.
**Being a small theatre business, we have been hit hard by the shutdowns of COVID 19. Please consider allowing us to hold your camper’s spot for next summer! HMT summer camp is our families sole source of income.
**Unlike many other Bay Area summer camps, we offered refunds to all parents that choose that option for our 2020 summer. We are sensitive to the hardships that this pandemic has brought to so many families.
